Don't Stop Believing - 18th July 2010 Students from Step Up took part in the Don't Stop Believing show on Channel 5 on 18th July 2010. Although they didn't get through they were fantastic as you can see from the YouTube clip of their performance (link). STEP UP ACHIEVEMENTS The Lion King 2012 Well done to Imogen Faires and Sisanda Monakali who have both been chosen to play Nala. Imogen is appearing in the West End and Sisanda is appearing on the tour of The Lion King. Imogen and Sisanda continue the tradition of Step Up students playing Nala after Alyda Miller's 3 year stint as the same character. All Stars 2012 George Ure and Cassie Compton judged the finals of All Stars 2012. The standard was so high with over 70 students taking part. Well done to all the performers! Theatre trips Every term Step Up students go to see at least one West End Musical. This is optional but in January 2013 over 50 went to see Matilda. The students have now seen almost all the current musicals in the West End. We consider this an important part of their education at Step Up, This term we will see Mama Mia and Viva Forever. Kids Company Events 2012 Well done to all those who have participated in the various Kids Company events recently. We gained a standing Ovation at the Samsung event and as a result of the Elizabeth Street event we have been invited to perform at a wedding next year! Euro Disney 2012 Step Up students entered the European festival for Performing Arts held in Euro Disney for the 4th time and won both the Junior and Senior Musical Theatre sections adding further trophies to those already won on previous occasions. Trinity Guildhall Exams 2012 Every student took an exam and we had another 100% pass rate with many students gaining a distinction. Soul Mates win Comic Relief Does Glee Club 2011 - 18th March 2011 Congratulations to Soul Mates who won Comic Relief Does Glee Club on 18th March 2011. Soul Mates are all students at Step Up. Euro Disney trip: October 2009 Well done to all the students who travelled to Euro Disney in October to compete in The European Festival of Dance and Performing Arts. Nick Robinson came 2nd in the Solo singing category. 1st in the group singing category: Electra-Giorgia Mullard, Faith Arinaitwe, Chloe Edwards with their rendition of "Don’t Let Go". 2nd  in the group singing category Eboni Dixon, Kathryn Kitchener and Courtney Rumbold singing "Three Little Maids" from The Hot Mikado. 3rd  in the group singing category Ellie Wilcox and Holly Taylor singing "Shadenfreude" from Avenue Q. Step Up also came 2nd in the Junior Musical Theatre Dance Category with ‘I Just Can’t Wait to be King’. Over 40 students participated and it was a great weekend. UK Unsigned 2009 All winners from UK Unsigned competed in a winners final at the Tabernacle in Notting Hill and Kathryn Kitchener came 2nd with her rendition of ‘As Long As He Needs Me’. She will now perform in the O2 in November. George Ure Workshop George Ure from Wicked did a very successful workshop with the Step Up students in November 2009. He taught them ‘What is this feeling’ and the students really enjoyed the experience. Summer Schools August 2009  Well done to all those who took part in the Step Up Summer Schools. All students completed successful productions of The Lion King and Oliver. Trinity Guildhall exams 2009 Well done to all those who took exams in June. The results were outstanding with a 100% pass rate with most students gaining a distinction. Paige Jones Saunders Well done to Paige Jones-Saunders who took part in the Stratford Music Festival recently. Paige achieved two first place distinctions, two second place commended and one third place commended. Paige also won a cup as the overall winner from three age groups ranging from 11 to 18 years. Broken Silence Well done to Ayshen Miller and Sillouettes for winning a place in the finals for Broken Silence competition on the 24th September 2009 Mountview Theatre Arts Well done to William Marsh who has just gained a full time place at Mountview Theatre Arts Joseph Well done to Ross Goold who continues to perform in the West End production of Joseph (see Ross and the cast in the attached photo – Ross is in the back row, second from the right in the striped top). UK Unsigned Finals in Hackney Empire July 2009 Olivia Browning who won the under 12 Musical Theatre category Kathryn Kitchener won the teens Musical Theatre category Kathryn Kitchener and Giorgia Mullard won the Musical group category www.ukunsigned.net. RCA Awards Well done to Kathryn Kitchener who won the Rising star award as voted for by the general public (see here for more details).
